When Customer uses features that involve PHI, Accreditation Now acts as a Business Associate under HIPAA.
Use and disclosure of PHI is governed by the Accreditation Now Business Associate Agreement ("BAA"),
which is incorporated by reference.
Customers are responsible for ensuring PHI is only entered into designated areas of the platform.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party providers (e.g., cloud hosting such as Microsoft Azure) necessary to operate the platform
- Legal Requirements: When required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition
All service providers are required to maintain appropriate data protection safeguards. Where applicable, HIPAA-compliant agreements are in place.

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect data, including:
